Abstract

We aimed to examine usage status and hygiene awareness of lip cosmetics among health science students. The subjects included 128 health science students in the department of dental hygiene, nursing, and other health sciences. Self-administerd questionnaires were used to determine the usage status and hygiene awareness of lip cosmetics including importance of hygiene, control and behavior. Statistical analyses were performed using independent t-test and one-way ANOVA were conducted using IBM statistics 18. The importance of hygiene and control awareness of lip cosmetics was higher in the group that often clean their lips. To improve the hygiene awareness of lip cosmetics among health students, including dental hygiene, which is closely related to infection control, continuous lip cosmetics hygiene management education is needed.
